I could not with all of me experience the choice given to Sue Storm and Reed Richards of The Fantastic Four. The choice being for them to give their baby to Galactus and it will spare the Earth. My mind does go to all of the children, families, and individuals as well as to all life which our pale blue dot is host to for the sacrifice of a single child.

That is one nasty Trolley problem.

I mean, why they all just standing there?

Oh? From what I know, it is a thought experiment. A kind of philosophy/ethics tool. The real Trolley problem was discussed between doctors and ethicists. They fought for the right for children and adults to not be killed for their their organs or anything else so that many others could live. So, you and I if and when we have to go to the emergency will not be murdered by a doctor so that in the next room two, three, or more people could live.

That is an option.

You couldn't even split yoursomething something. Knife.

If you do nothing it's just things happening if you switch track you kill someone and become a murderer.

Outside of the Trolley problem as a thought experiment, captured what is a rational thought. Yet, it is a simulation to see how our decision-making, personal ethics, and other things deal with the problem. As I am a part-time pacifist, I have had and continue to have a difficult time with the Trolley problem.
