Damn. That means I should buy the big hotdog shape ground beef package to make burgers.

You can either buy them pre-shaped or shape them yourself.

I buy the 4 pack pre shape if they have 4 pack buns.

You can't just have 2 extra buns you either throw away or use for something else?

What are buns use for except beef? I mean can I cook a round egg and use buns for that? Does it taste right?

You could. Some places like Jack in the box use buns for their breakfast sandwiches. You can also use them with chicken patties. Or just anything else you use break for. It's not all that different.
