I have been watching a YouTube channel called Sanborn Construction Group. They are contractors for full house renos. Seeing a home go from unlivable to reno completed must be satisfying for all involved. Certainly it is hard work. But, the resulting new home for a future family to buy or rent makes it worth it. In a different life, well, like many years ago, I got my trade school diploma as an electronics technician and did work for a variety of small businesses and for contractors. After a decade of that, my health deteriorated, so I had to leave that line of worked. I loved it but was inhaling and/or absorbing through the skin far too much construction dust and solvents that are involved with the job. I do miss seeing large projects go from chaos to completion.

I'm good with my fingers. (Typing, you know)

Typing skills are cool. If you game, code, or write in any capacity, typing is a must have skill.

Feels like millennials are the only ones good at typing. Kids nowadays don't use computers, only phones/consoles. Typing is going to become a lost art.

Me and my gf tried to fix our washing machine ourselves instead of paying to have it fixed. It wasn't putting out water and everyone on the internet kept saying it was probably this one part that was cheap and not hard to replace. Well we gave it a shot and bought the part and replaced it, and it still wasn't working lol.. Ended up paying a repairman and it was something more complicated.

That's the problem with fixing something, sometimes you don't even know what the problem is.

Sometimes yeah, im sure if you continued trouble shooting you'd have gotten it eventually

Yeah but eventually you'd be dealing with sensitive components and changing motors and motherboards and shit like that and those things are best with some experience under your belt imo.

For sure if you aren't willing to replace something dont get too far out of what you're comfortable with
