I've been thinking about this lately, that what if we're living in a simulation.
What if we're all god? What if every person has our own personalities and free will and stuff, but when we die, we'll rejoin the consciousness of the deity that runs the simulation and all our memories and stuff will be intact so we get to live on, in a sense.
It's funny how not long ago I read something like, "Science says we are not living in a simuation, because we found evidence of this or that.". It's like come on, if we were in a simulation, do you really think we'd be smart enough to figure it out and beat the system? That would be a bad simulation if it were that simple to figure out. If we were in a simulation, there's no reason why they couldn't design it to look completely organic to us and there would be no way for us to figure it out. I mean what are we going to do, travel to the edge of the universe?
Reminds me of the movie the thirteenth floor. Great movie if you haven't seen it.
Not sure we can place any blame on scientists and their opinions as they are, like you and me, human.
Science as a body of knowledge may not be invested in what we feel or wish to be true.
Same goes for religions. If there are Gods, Goddesses, and/or energy beings of any sort, I do not think that they are affected by what our species thinks or hopes for.
Mind you, I know mostly about how yummy peanut butter is. So, do not quote me on anything I say. I will plead the peanut butter equivalent of the 5th amendment.
HeyMan3, if wishes could come true, I would love to see an edge of the universe. To see what it looks like. But, wishes are funny little things.
