In many parts of the world, the ferocious and playful Krampusnacht, or “Krampus Night,” is often overlooked. Many folk have most of their focus on Christmas and/or New Years. Yet, there are so many cultures with their own unique celebrations.

"Krampusnacht, or “Krampus Night,” is a traditional festival celebrated on the evening of December 5th in Alpine regions such as Austria, Germany, and parts of Central Europe. The event is centered around Krampus, a fearsome, horned creature from folklore who serves as a counterpart to Saint Nicholas."
"In Alpine tradition, Krampus accompanies St. Nicholas on December 5th, a night known as Krampusnacht or Krampus Night. While St. Nicholas rewards the good children with gifts, Krampus takes care of the naughty ones, either by scaring them, whipping them with birch branches, or in the most dramatic tales, carrying them away in a sack. This dual role creates a balance between reward and punishment during the holiday season."
