What if when you had returned, all of the accounts but yours are AI agents. Not bots, but seamless and undetectable AI agents which had studied/trained on over a decade's worth of most of the threads of most of the forums that are online and they can mimic anyone. If you could not tell, would it have an effect on how you interact with that loved and fun forum?
Meta is going that way. It's populating its VR space with AI agents that are on the cusp of being undetectable. Considering the amount of wealth and tech that Meta is host to, it won't be long before the billions of avatars that you may interact with will be AI agents which form long lasting friendships with you.
I am worried.
