I've got this table lamp that I like but recently its been playing up. Starts to flicker until I move the cord and then it stops.
Wtf is that shit about and how do you you fix it?

The cord seems to have a wackler, that means the copper in the cord seems "interupted", like broke, and if you move it until the copper got contact again, then it "seems" all ok again. Just get a new cord and rewire it.

I'll see if i have some older appliance lying in a shed somewhere and will borrow a new cord.

It doesn't take a electrician to diagnose a loose/bad wire 😂 you may need to resolder at the connection point

Not worth it. By the time I buy a soldering iron, maybe a voltmeter and try to figuire out which exact part is damaged I can just order a new lamp
The only reason I am even considering fixing it is I like this particular lamp but I dont like it that much.

Will attempt to replace the cord and If that doesnt work straight in the trash.

Unless it's extremely weird it's literally one cord straight to the bulb ran through the furniture
only way your putting on a new wire is soldering more then likely and a old solder joint is likely at fault anyways and the cord is fine
Your choice if it's worth the trouble
