My brother tried the first remarkable. he's big on hand written notes for work but returned it because it wasn't the same feel. Doubt he's gonna try it again even with the new updates.
I saw an ad for the huion note where you can put your preferred paper on top and transmit digitally but I haven't looked much into it.

I'm just waiting for that holographic touch"screen" projection like in those movies.

Comes standard with most Samsung tablets. They are handy sometimes, I like to use one to take quick notes or draw a rough sketch for a client. Not essential unless are into art/graphic design
