Good morning my beautiful children! My name is wraps and I'm a rand! Some people call me The Grand Wolf of GC and others call me the happy little turtle of General Chat! You can call me whatever you want as long as you don't call me late for dinner!
We have a big day ahead of us in General Chat today! Today we're going to be practicing "forum etiquette"! Forum etiquette is an important part of having a healthy forum so I'll lay out some guidelines to help us continue our journey in the right direction and together we will make General Chat great again and build back better!
1. Replying back to others: If you want to see General Chat thrive, it's important to reply back to everyone that leaves a post! Even if they aren't talking to you, it's still good to acknowledge them! It's kind of like saying, "hey, I know you weren't talking to me but I see your post and I acknowledge it"!
2. Plus ones: Plus ones are an important part of having a healthy General Chat but it's important to use them the right way! Engaging in conversation is the way to go! Not getting the last post in every thread! I mean, it's okay to get the last post! Don't get me wrong! But getting the last post in every thread just for the sake of post count is selfish! You want to make sure that you are leaving open ended responses so others can converse with you! Then you follow through with the first step in our guideline!
3. Video threads: Video threads are good and all but a good video thread requires some context if it's going to be a good video thread! Not just a title with a video posted in it! That's pretty much it for video threads! I mean, shorter videos are best but a nice long video is okay for slow days! As long as it's interesting!
Well, I don't want to overwhelm you all with forum etiquette today so we'll just stick with these three and do our best to put them into practice! Practice makes perfect!
