Short version: outdoor light triggered by cat. Cat knows this and knows I am a cat person so they get lots of skritches from me. They game the motion detector.

tl;dr:
We live in a working class neighborhood, yet there have been some break-ins these last few months. Why steal from people who are barely making their basic payments while raising a family... Not, me, but my neighbors' life experiences. I do not have children. What has been happening is that skunks, cats, and raccoons, possibly a fox, too, have been triggering the light. I have adjusted the sensor, but it is on the cusp of not being triggered by anything. So, I can live with cats triggering it. I do enjoy saying hello to them when I go and and investigate why the light was triggered. The cats may be onto that fact and trigger the light so as to get a hello and skritch under their chin time with me. I am such a suck when it comes to cats!

Ive setup Vivint cameras on the outside of my house. The side yard has more activity than anything else. Cats on patrol, bunnies galore and misc others.

With my dad helping, we had to adjust the sensitivity to not kick on about small animals but pick up people. Was pain staking and long ordeal but with the limited help of cust support, we got it close enough.

Still have spiders that setup a web right up on the lens lol.
