So. Listen to this. Those specialist sausages i bought the other day, and posted about. 3 x 10$, 2 for the price of 3, so 20$.

Every .. damn .. single time i buy those, i've tried over the years. I get disappointed.

Yes, the taste is good. Herbs, spices. But. This is the kicker here.

I bite through them. And soon enough, most of the time, there is some kind of hard object inside. What is that nasty crap?? It's like, is it some kind of sinew or bone or other nasty stuff that should not be in there??

If i buy the regular cheese dogs, that i've been happy with for 15 years, i never encounter those things. They just taste nice, even if they are quite unhealthy, at times, that is okay too. Just regulate the amount.

So why is this? Why do they stick MORE garbage into the expensive products, and, well, probably not less, but at least less of the nasty and tooth-breaking stuff in the cheaper suasages?

Why is this? You guys always have an answer to everything. So i figure you have an answer to this too :) It's nice to be able to ask questions to such open-minded audience.

They're using trim in both instances, and to a more unpalatable-to-know degree with the hotdogs, but because of their much finer grind, you'll have a more consistent product with fewer noticeably hard bits.

/e Aside from my experience, it's something straightforwardly intuited.

Heh yeah, we sure took after here in Norway .. i have read that after WW2, Europe decided to build anew based on much of Amerigan principles. Many of whome i agree on, but not all.

Some things i wish was changed. On our constitutional day, 17th of may, wiener sausages is the national food. Everyone eats it. In a sort of potato wrapping, tortilla. With ketchup and mustard.

Yet, Norwegian cuisine has so much to celebrate. Whole roasted piglet, lamb, salmon. There should be smoking barrels with that stuff on every street. Yet we stuff ourselves with the nastiest waste product of the food industry. And i am sorry to say, that is most likely from the states. I will admit, it is genius, a genius way to get rid of industrial food waste. But, a practice i detest.

Yet, our main cheese grill dog brand, is hard to give up ^^ So they hit the nail on the head there. I try to limit it as much as possible.

Yes. Wow. Or, yowzer. And i paid double. Never again. I just wanted to try something different. I should thank you actually. I was considering a long time to buy a book, Sausages from A to Z (or A to Å in Norwegian ^^). And start making'em MYSELF! Man. I should just get on with that instead of wasting money on garbage. Thank you for reminding me.

Thanks for the info. Going to start makin'em myself instead. Dang industrial corporate suits. They do anything to save a buck.
