My family frequents Mexico and Las Vegas and always try getting me to go and I can never bring myself to spend the money. Rather buy something semipermanent or atleast longer lasting with my money. If I’m going to spend a fat check on a vacation it’s going to be to the middle of absolute nowhere
Or a pool. Could do aquatic exercise at home. Best workout possible. But the damn electricity bill.
I got about 12 000$ in savings, and an apartment probably worth about 80 000$ in liquidity if i choose to sell.
The way things are going in norway at the moment, housing maintenance and electricity costs getting insane expensive .. i'm considering buying a worn down shack... as you write, in the middle of nowhere, and making a nice home independent on the public electricity grid, installing solar power and maybe a windmill. Hehe sounds weird. But a good little concrete house with 3 floors. Then i can live there until i die ^^ But probably way too expensive. Can do the job myself but who knows. Probably cost 30 000$ just to get the paperwork done, fees and all.
Beginning to realize, managing living in places where you have to get along with other people is a friggin hassle. It's like a shit ton of work just to get something going, and even then you may not get it done, since people don't care one bit. I don't get it. And the so called professionals don't even answer to emails. Frig it all lol.
