If a game dev knew his game had an issue that made his game suck and said he would fix it but only if the players did the work for him, wouldn't that be a terrible way to run a game? Good thing this is only a theoretical and noone that stupid actually exists, right?

Hi it's me Bethesda employee bogs.

Pretty much what happened with no man's sky at first. All the user mods fixed/improved the game tremendously and it didn't even have a formal modding system in place. It took quite a bit of bad press and negative feedback before the creator got his ass in gear and started doing something about it.

Counter-Strike GO is the best example of game being destroyed by the developpers
