fixed it for you bro

You didn't fix anything tho. :(

You obviously don't understand waveform propagation or bother to think about the altitude of the aircraft being detected.

That's why radars are installed at the highest possible point on a ship; to get the maximum possible range. They won't work past the curvature and that's the reason why there are also over-the-horizon radars that "bounce" the signal on the ionosphere to extend the range greatly.

If the Earth was flat, boat radars would be able to detect pretty much each and every ship in the entire ocean, and that's not the case. Guess that Earth isn't flat after all.

I'd live to hear how OPTICAL perspective explains this.

because the human eye has 4000 X optical zoom and can see that far right.........oh logic, where art though?

same for radio waves, they never deteriorate over distance right? just keep going forever...

Wrong answer.

Radio waves can travel much farther than 60 miles, yet conventional radars cannot identify a target past this range, why is that?

Nice to bring the human eye in all of this, why can't I see someone 500 miles away at sea with a telescope?

Answer the questions instead of dodging, thank you.

Why is the radar range exactly the distance you would expect on a globe Earth, even though radio waves could travel further in the air if Earth was flat?
Why can't you observe ships past the exact distance you would expect on a globe Earth, even when using a telescope or binoculars?

Radio waves deteriorate when passing through a medium. There is no medium in space.

go back and read post # 9003......actually read it.

and btw:

gee, I wonder why they would use that model? because it is the REAL model maybe?
