This should be the motto of flat earth. Because if you are only looking at 10% of the surface of the earth, any where on the earth, it would in fact, appear flat. Simply because it's so vastly, mind mindbogglingly big, almost as big as the universe, but not nearly, it's a very large, quite enormous sphere.
I would also like to mention, that spheres have "flat" surfaces too.
A Sphere with jagged edges is an Octagon or a Pentagon.
