I tried being the stoic asshole and -yes it worked- but those relationships are not fulfilling for me. Why pretend someone you’re not? Does not make sense to me.

sounds like you were with a borderline. dont show them that you love them it makes them hate you . i know that feel. just use em as free prositutes as long as it lasts. show them you dont value and care about them to delay the inevitable discard. its for the best of you both. they think themselves that theyre worthless subhuman trash (which is true) and they absolutely HATE people that love them because the think theyre as worthless as themselves. its why they love narc so much. if you dont want them to leave you have to act like you dont care much. dont write back, ignore their drama etc then she will do everything in her power to get your attention . just do this as long as you can. never ever invest any emotions in these psycho like encounters because they cant bond with you like normal people expect everything and mentally prepare for day x can come sooner than you think. dont give them private information or any thing that can be used as ammunition against you because they will
