Not really necessary to skip meals, but some people do have success with intermittent fasting. Idk what your diet is like but I would eliminate low hanging fruit like ultra-processed snack foods/desserts and sweetened drinks if applicable. Also download an app that you can log your food and track calories/macros in if you're serious
