well there are a couple things happening there

1. The UFC struggles to maintain legitimacy here and overseas. It's been an uphill battle as a business the entire time so part of it is trying to be seen as professional and responsible

2. Everyone from the management to promoters to commentators are mostly Conor nuthuggers and they have given super fanboy analysis since saturday and it's just ridiculous exaggerations and bullshittery to cover up the King getting completely dominated

overall the brawl was a minor event that could have been much worse

lots of blame to go all around from promotion to lack of accountability for the UFC against Conor's actions and Khabib's part which is nowhere near as big of a deal as people exaggerate

Conor knows it was tit for tat which is why he didn't press charges (that and he wants that rematch)

This is all mostly just an optics short term negative, not that huge of a deal (but only because there were no deaths or major injuries)

The khabib photo eagle landing is already iconic as is the one of him standing over conor

everyone will get their clicks this week and we all go right back to business as normal by this weekend

Money settles everyone down and soon the money will be waving once again and everyone assumes the position

Khabib could retire and stay retired he's much more principled than these other guys that retire and come back and retire and come back

A lot of this is just fake exaggerated hooey fooey

Bellator fun this weekend

Bellator has been quietly but effectively sneaking up on the UFC the last few years

Improving the roster steadily, good fights, not all the drama, Coker > Dana when it comes to treatment of fighters and being a face for the company

This deal with DAZN brought in big bucks to keep on improving the organization

They are adopting fighters early on and building them up smart which is something the UFC sucks at doing and they are grabbing the good fighters from the UFC when the opportunities arise

Good old Uncle Chael vs one of my favorite fighters Fedor

Chael will be looking to give Fedor the less skilled Khabib effect but I think the last emperor still has the speed and power to drop ole Chael. Long time fan of both but I'm going to go with my boy Fedor on this one with a KO round 1 or 2

I'll go Mitrione with an early KO or Bader by decision

Nice fun relaxing fight weekend after the chaos and intensity of last

this will be wild if it goes through

pretty much the last nail in the coffin for the 125 division and a trade of one of the greatest pound for pound fighters in the history of the sport which is unfortunate

Bringing Askren over has been a dream for a long time for mma fans it opens up a lot of interesting and exciting matchups

Might be closer to a 165 division now as well

dc and the black beast are both champion men about to fight for a championship belt

DC always setting that example as a man and role model

Lewis a tremendous example for troubled youth from the streets and prison to fighting for a championship with a very impressive heavyweight run for his family

the fight itself is no mystery. Lewis is not an mma fighter he is a fighter that relies on pure strength, grit, and heart

This is DC's to lose as far as technique and skill go but if anyone has enough heart to get to a victory it's Derrick Lewis
