The earth is constantly trying to fall into the sun, but it keeps missing. That is essentially what an orbit is. The sun exerts an attractive force on the earth, accelerating the earth directly towards the sun. This acceleration is constantly taking place. However, the earth also has some sideways momentum (perpendicular to the direction towards the sun). So as it falls towards the sun, it also moves to the side. As long as that sideways motion is enough to "side-step" the sun, the earth will orbit instead of crashing. You can see this more clearly in a more elliptical orbit:

The radius of the Earth is 3959 miles.

The distance from Earth to the sun is 92.96 million miles.

So the force due to the sun during the day is G(Mass of the Sun x Mass of You) / (Distance from Earth to the Sun)^2

During night its the same, but with the distance being the Distance from Earth to the Sun + 2x Radius of Earth

So the difference is only 0.000050 Newtons, or roughly 0.01% the amount of force required to press down the key on a keyboard.

So yes, the pull from the sun is stronger during the day, but it's so imperceptibly small of a difference that you could never actually feel it.

so according to Einstein if gravity is caused by the bending of the space-time fabric (whatever that is) then on the side of earth facing the sun - its experiencing 66,600 mph of forward acceleration while the side away from the Sun is needing to suck harder to keep things sucked to earth but you just said the opposite - so awkward when math fails. And in your believe, the earths orbit is elliptical and we are 1/4 million miles closer to the sun in winter so do things weigh more in the winter too?

And if gravity fades with distance, why is pluto still in orbit? And if the iss experiences only 90% of gravity at 250 miles high, then by simple math - the earth's gravity cannot be keeping the moon in orbit nor the moons gravity affecting the tides. Gravity debunks itself. What is the speed of gravity btw is it faster than the speed of light?
