because on a sphere things "go down" as they move away from you.
Train tracks just appear to go up to what Helios worshipers think is the curve of the Earth.
They just optically appear that way because that's how perspective on a flat plane works, items converge at a central point.
Its sad to hear you try and explain perspective.

of course they do, perspective does not converge the y axis, and if the sun was 93 million miles away, we would see all parallel sunrays
