b1g1f means you have to pay 100% value and get 200% value. The scale is a bit different, but if it's in large scale they really are the same.
You do not need to get 2 items to get B1G1F.
2 items at 4$ ea. is 8$, if one of them is free, it's going to be a total of 4$ for 2
