But English not being their native language and them being 15% of our population absolutely brings down that literacy percentage. Because they test literacy in the US on ENGLISH ONLY.
Basically the US being a melting pot gives a slightly false representation of its literacy levels. Just slightly. I think they’d still be under 96% (probably 92-94% if they included non English literacy).
