I did 3 months of culinary school and I can recommend to learn about it to anyone. It really helps efficiency to know basics like how to work in a kitchen with the appropriate tools and learn the hygiene/safety. If you try to follow recipes more on the dot online in general I'll recommend to follow cooks from your area because they have access to the same market than you.
For example a lemon cake can be very hard to do because you have to personally adjust for the lemons you get. You can't follow an exact recipe because the lemon zest grating and juice is different from lemon batches you get at your store.
Baking isnt cooking but ok
