Besides considering it provides light to all countries close to the same timezone and comparing to a high powered flashlight its obvious

Eg: I have a 1000 lumen flashlight from klarus no where near as bright as the sun.

The reason Chivas won't answer my question about light bending is that he knows for a fact it doesn't unless you make the atmosphere significantly non-uniform (this can be easily demonstrated with a laser pointer) and that ultimately disproves his "law of perspective and convergence".
