Lot about younger dryas impact evidence, reading the geological landscape, presenting evidence for the case that the end of the last ice age was due to several impacts. old recolections like i think the podcast above is about, and generally very good presentations.

A User's Guide to Our Emotional Thermostat (with Adam Mastroianni) - EconTalk
-

In this episode Mastroianni talks about how built into us is the ability to regulate emotions, and how one can actually be too happy(mania). People who are manic can partake in risky behaviours like investing money in businesses or driving very fast for the thrill.

I found this episode to be interesting.

I don't know all that much about Randal Carlson, but my understanding is that he's a controversial figure. I've seen a lot more about how he's spreading pseudoscience than I have heard anything positive about him. But, I really don't know. It's admittedly an area where I don't have much knowledge and haven't spent much time on.

I'll listen to what you posted at some time to get a better idea of what he's about.

I'll respond to this later, but I have recommended this podcast episode as an introduction to Randall Carlsson at times before.

Don't take that whatever mainstream has said about Randall in the past too seriously, he is doing & contributing to a lot of important work.

I'll look into it. Carlson is a bit hard to look into because most of the writing criticizing him is really just writing about Graham Hancock. I'd be interested in finding some criticism of Carlson that isn't about his proximity to Hancock.

Although to me being associated with Hancock doesn't look good for him. What I've read about Hancock leads me to believe that people who are academics and researchers think Hancock is a grifter who misinterprets data, ignores data, and cherry picks to fit his needs, which is pretty much what I've read about Carlson as well.

Like I said, I'll look into it, but I'm not really sure where to start. To me changing my mind about him would require finding actual academics who support his research, no amount of listening to him is going to be able to change my mind. It would have to be a relevant authority in the fields of science and history that he talks about.
