I'll respond to this later, but I have recommended this podcast episode as an introduction to Randall Carlsson at times before.
Don't take that whatever mainstream has said about Randall in the past too seriously, he is doing & contributing to a lot of important work.
I'll look into it. Carlson is a bit hard to look into because most of the writing criticizing him is really just writing about Graham Hancock. I'd be interested in finding some criticism of Carlson that isn't about his proximity to Hancock.
Although to me being associated with Hancock doesn't look good for him. What I've read about Hancock leads me to believe that people who are academics and researchers think Hancock is a grifter who misinterprets data, ignores data, and cherry picks to fit his needs, which is pretty much what I've read about Carlson as well.
Like I said, I'll look into it, but I'm not really sure where to start. To me changing my mind about him would require finding actual academics who support his research, no amount of listening to him is going to be able to change my mind. It would have to be a relevant authority in the fields of science and history that he talks about.
