Only about 70% totality visible here in Toronto :( It was cool though! Would have loved to see it in full totality.

I am just looking for something half way decent, doesn't need to be over the top. This is just a hobby of mine, gotta do some research on it. I have two telescopes as I said before, my grandfather absolutely loved staring at the skies, so he passed them both down to me, one is decent, the other is insane. Just need the equipment for my laptop now, I was just using a camera phone just like you. Let me know what you would like to upgrade to if you don't mind, I would also like to know what your next telescope upgrade would be and your dream telescope.

Nice man that's cool, what are the models of them if you don't mind me asking?
I like the NexImage 10 as well, for USB cams for laptops. I hear they take good images of planets. I have been using that for planets, mixed with a Nikon DSLR for other things. I have the NexImage 5 and it's really easy to use once you get the hang of it.
Hmm my dream telescope, tough one lol. I'd like to have the best one in the world, but the Celestron CPC1100 is a fantastic telescope if you have a couple grand to blow lol.
You see my biggest problem right now is my MOUNT, I would like something called a German Equatorial Tracking mount, something with a GO-TO so the the object I want to look it is always in the middle of the frame. Not having this means I need to constantly move the telescope to follow the object, it's quite annoying, and I feel like I could get WAY better pictures if I'm using a better mount.

I'm tracking this topic.

I am probably getting a telescope soon. Almost 100% decided on this one: https://www.amazon.com/Meade-Instruments-LightBridge-Telescope-203003/dp/B01C5TG53Y

Do you have any particular opinion about it? :) It's my first telescope, so I am going in with a starter budget.

Hey thanks :) I have something big coming up for this thread in the near future.
What's your budget like specifically? Narrow it down for me and I'll help you pick something good!

A few of my favorites so far, i'm gonna update this regularly adding more pictures. Jupiter is up next on the 17th!
All are taken on my Galaxy S5 through an Orion Skyquest XT6 telescope

This star is called Procyon, it's the 8th brightest star in the sky, though a picture doesn't do much justice :P

I'll give you the same post I posted on Reddit a while ago. :)

1 - BUDGET
Preferably €200, max €300.

2 - OBSERVING CONDITIONS
I live in Belgium, near Leuven (fairly large city near Brussels). Belgium is notorious for having street lights everywhere, so that doesn't help. Light pollution is pretty terrible here, although it is possible for me to drive 45 minutes to a location with significantly darker skies.
On the plus side, I am most interested in seeing things within our solar system: the planets, Jupiter's moons, Saturn's rings, some surface details of the moon, Mars and Jupiter, etc. Stars, galaxies and nebulae interest me as well, but are of far less importance.

3 - TOLERANCE FOR COMPROMISES
I think the most important factor is that the telescope must be durable enough to be moved frequently. I have no garden, and my bedroom's window is near a street light, so whenever I want to use the telescope I will have to move it somewhere.
A mount is an absolute must, and preferably it's not too shaky.
Other than that, I am aware that I won't get an absolutely perfect telescope for my budget. As long as the compromises do not have a significant impact on the ease-of-use, I am okay with them.

I did change my mind about tripods meanwhile. For this budget, it's probably better to go with a tabletop telescope and a decent stepladder to place it on.
