Ur argument that travelling leads to some kind of enlightenment is merely gatekeeping. You argue that people travel to become higher quality. Therefore enlightenment is a privilege and unfortunately that's just not true.

My point was extremely clear, as is Mark Twain's. Travel makes you less racist, close minded and bigoted, all qualities you, and a bunch of other GC users posses.
And I disagree that travel is for the wealthy or privileged, my first trip was straight after I graduated university, fresh debt and was broke the while time I studied, I gave up everything, saved every penny and left. Everyone can travel, some people just start walking with a tent and clothes, that's practically free
So save your sob story excuses, your poverty is not making you racist.
