It's just proof of how incredibly ill educated you are on the subject. I mean, FFS, there are tons of groupings of stars that the majority of people would be able to identify if you handed them a picture. There were even some particularly clever Greeks who drew little pictures with the stars, it's a great mnemonic, you should look it up.

I can see the pan handle, orions belt and the southern cross from here in australia, but not polaris.

I actually saw the ISS the first time my partner and I hung out, at a friend's summer solstice party. At least, I assume that's what it was, it was a big fucking satellite that cruised along for a good 30 seconds or so.
