First there were random scratches that looked interesting. Then there were symbols that could be interpreted between early humans. Then there were combinations of symbols (cave paintings) that conveyed an entire message to an audience. This is the process of encoding and decoding information. All human innovation springs from this idea. I'm pretty much an atheist but I can't deny the utility of obeying a central set of documents.

If there was any attempt at rational examination of ancient religious texts I'd be more willing to have a discussion on them but all these guys are doing are quoting millenia old texts as if they were the laws of the universe written in titanium. American christians who go out to promote their religion aren't even christians they're just zombies with mantras.
