Yeah, that's kind of a big deal.

The fact that you can see these things with something at home and there are websites that track them

Keep adding oil, and no way for the water/watervapor to escape, and the water becomes compressed ice.

Just like how the methane on the ocean floors was compressed into a solid by the pressure of the oceans.

Not sure what oil floating on water has to do with methane at the bottom of our oceans, in your example are you saying that methane would be like the water and that the oil is like the water?

Whatever, i dont think it works like that.

Don't worry he will back track his words, claim he never said that, and hope no one can find the post he said it in.

If someone does, he will simply vanish for a few hours, presumably to get drunk and cry, then return in full force.

Looks like he's just gone to ignoring the question because it's too inconvenient.

Its an analog. Duh.

It does work like that. Pressure turns gas to liquid and liquid to solid. Why do you think a hair spray can has liquid in it when u shake it but when you spray the can a gas comes out.

Or any co2 cannister or "whippits". (Something i bet you are familiar with)

Under pressure.

Sounds like they are stuck looking at the problem in how they are told to approach the problem, they might wanna look into sonoluminescence and figure out what's really going on there.

Doesn't change the fact that more energy is spent producing the fuel than the fuel will provide.

weighing it down? i thought you'd believe it was gravity

If Newtonian Gravity is mass attracting mass and you drop two items in a complete vacuum - shouldn't there be more attraction in the heavier object?

Your version of 'it's just buoyancy' relies on density just as much as reality does so not sure what your point is.
Gravity is the explanation of why things fall and heavier objects sink in lighter fluids. Your explanation is just the observation but again not surprized , down is down because it's down is like the maximum understanding your capable of.

Also my understanding is the methane hydrate forms as methane excapes from underground and becomes solidified and attached to the rock formations so ya rock is heavier than water.

Totally not true , the idea you could see something that small 400-40,000 miles away moving that fast is not realistic.

You can barely see an airplane traveling 10-15 miles up, if they go up another 10 miles they totally disappear - your claiming if they travel up further 400 miles up and get 20x smaller and move 20x faster you can make them out - right. Sure kid - you can totally see Santas sled too.

Argument from incredulity. Just because YOU can't understand it doesn't mean the rest of us can't.
