went to a wedding last night and an engagement party a couple days ago. no islays, unfortunately, but i had some nice stuff:

glenlivet 21 - very smooth and nice flavor thats richer than the 18, but still not a super flavorful scotch. good but overpriced. i think between the two of us, my wife and i mustve drank close to 1/5 of the bottle, didnt really see many others hitting it. their loss...
glenfiddich 14 bourbon cask - had this before, its decent

glenlivet 18 - had before; its good and smooth but not that flavorful. also overpriced imo.
glenmorangie signet - quite nice, very smooth. goood sherried flavor, but not much more than that.
glenfiddich 14 rich oak - pretty similar to the bourbon cask one, maybe a bit oakier
johnny walker blue - had before, decent but overpriced. my wife commented "this is johnny walker's best...?"
orphan barrel rhetoric 25 year - quite interesting for a bourbon, which im not usually a fan of. had a heavy sweetish, almost sherried taste to it unlike any other bourbon ive had. also very oaky. my wife thought it weird and odd, didnt realize it was bourbon at first, but that could be from whatever she ate just before trying it. its a limited edition, so very pricey, but very good for a bourbon imo.
also had some nice red wines.

balvenie has a new one out, aged in virgin american oak. not bad, but the overtones are too bourbony for me.

it's 135 proof, and gets very nice with ice. perfect with a fine cuban cigar

Vat69 here for the foreseeable future. Saving the cash and it's good whisky anyway.

Putting ice in your whisky /10
