a small aerodinamic bullet is much less affected by the air than huge inflatable balloons. Air rotates together with the Earth , and keeps the balloons mostly (there is wind of course) in position

When you say an explanation is bad, usually you should also point out why...

Thomas's explanation makes perfect sense, but feel free to point out flaws in it.
