I'm glad someone else has hallucinated from whisky. A very very old tallisker in high quantity once made me trip like I was on mushrooms...

I'm Canadian and so therefore mostly Scottish. Maybe it's genetic

im not sure, i havent actually used them myself, i prefer to drink room temp. but the theory sounds good. how well they chill would depend on what theyre made of/filled with and how cold the freezer you chill them in is.

Another thing I'd recommend is an ice sleeve for your bottle. If you drink single fingers then that works better than stones.

i dont chill at all. it does make it smoother but it masks the flavor...

i got some new stuff recently, at the bottom is an updated list of what i have now. one of the best new purchases was Yamazaki 12 year. this stuff can easily compete with some of the the better scotches - its GOOD. smooth, bold, flavorful. no wonder the 25 year version goes for $2000... the 18 year is more moderately priced at $160, ill have to try that out sometime.

i also struck gold again with another discontinued find. man, i got good luck with that. picked up two bottles of glenkinchie 10 year for $50 each. the last one i got was $130. ghereonna keep these for myself, rather than resell them like i did with the longmorn 15's i got a while back. wish id kept one of em for myself...

Do you plan on drinking 1 bottle at time or just little bit of each from time to time?

I haven't had too many new ones recently, only ones I can think of were

Cragganmore 12
The Double Oaked Woodford Reserve
Benromach 10
Yamato Japanese Whisky

Really wish I lived in an area where I had a greater selection..
