the reason the bottom stays put until the top falls on it, rather than rising to meet the top as it falls, is due to it being a weak spring. a strong spring wouldnt do what was shown, it would contract against gravity from both ends as it falls.

just another case of card so fundamentally misunderstanding what's going on that he digs himself a grave.
