I’ve never had scotch that I can recall. I don’t think I’d like it

Why do so many of their names start with "glen"? Who was Glen?

the absinthe was pretty good. a bit different buzz than regular alcohol, but nothing crazy. dunno the strength of the active ingredient in this one, though...

Never had that one. I did enjoy the Auchtenoshan.

Other recent pick-ups have been the Cardhu and the Tomatin. Of the two I probably prefer the Tomatin, but I wouldn't really rank either of them among my top picks.

i went to another whisky tasting event last week. tried some good stuff and some interesting stuff. ardbeg has a relatively new one out, an oa. quite good and nicely balanced, as they tout. another whiskey of note i tried is the balcones blue corn bourbon. surprisingly sweet, with notes of cotton candy and candy corn. not what im usually after in a whiskey, but very interesting to try.

Have you ever been to Scotland? I was looking of taking a two week vacation over there with my brother and father. Probably fly in to Edinburgh, spend a few days there, and then make our way across the country hitting various distilleries/other attractions.

i got a bottle of pinch recently. the 15 yo. its not bad, but not really great, either. very forward on the alcohol flavor, although its pretty smooth overall. i think in general blends tend to sacrifice flavor for smoothness. i rather have the flavor...
