there is no comparison. a spring is defined by it's shape, and a slinky matches that description. there is no comparison at all. a slinky isn't LIKE a spring, a slinky IS a spring. the fact that it's a weak spring doesn't make it not a spring. your argument is a weak one, but it's still an argument.

How can homonyms exist - I mean a nail is a nail right - their simple the same 4 letters, so they must be the same thing, right?

So when is a nail not a nail?

so you're now claiming a slinky is a spring, but it's only because it's a homonym of say a garage door spring?

interesting tactic. not at all addressing the fact that a slinky's shape makes it a spring but interesting.

an item's function has nothing to do with it's shape,

a spring is defined by it's shape.

Beside slightly contradicting yourself, things aren't defined by their shape, things are defined by their function - is a golf ball the same as a cherry because they're both round?

Is uncooked corkscrew pasta the same as a spring because their both spirals?

no , your saying slinky = spring

If you want to claim a slinky is similar to a spring because its coiled and spiraled shaped - i will concede that

but then is only similar in the homonym sense.

Stfu springs are springy because of conserved energy.

Same thing with slinkies, except the effect is the reverse of a spring. The conserved energy comes from being stretched out
Which give it resistance energy and causes it to compress as its falling in the opposite direction of gravities pull. Hence it doesnt falln until the energy is spent.
Stop being dumb.

no there is no contradiction, not ALL things are defined by their shapes, but springs are. which is actually a BIT off kilter. technically it's only a spring if it is shaped like the definition of a spring suggest AND has enough internal strength to act as a spring does in regards to tension. essentially if it is shaped like a helical coil and attempts to return to it's shape when stretched or compressed it is a spring. a slinky matches this perfectly, and this is why a slinky does what it does, including compress before falling to earth.

but in no way does this prove or disprove gravity or any other theory, at all.

If mass approaches infinite mass while traveling at the speed of light and we are traveling 500,000 mph around the Milky Way while expanding into space at 1/2 the speed of light, should we weigh like a some crazy amount?
