No, it's not quite about "it doesn't make sense to me," it's about "it doesn't make sense at all." I simply take the flat Earth model as YOU present it, and then use evidence to reduce the logic supporting your model to an absurdity. It's actually a quite formal method for disproving your models. Like when I used trigonometry to prove that known real-world occurrences (the daily non-stop flights from Johannesburg to Sydney & vice versa) are utterly impossible on a flat Earth.
