I think most scholars believe that people were not intimidated by Jesus or his apostles at most places they went. They often had to leave town in a hurry to avoid the law. With that being said the only way I believe he could accomplish this is in a fit of anger with a weapon.

Most art also depicts him swinging it at people too(obviously the artists weren’t present) so I would assume the greater belief is he did in fact (in the very least) swing it AT people. I’d assume in the panic several were also struck.

Although Jesus was as close as we would get to “God on Earth”. I do not believe he was flawless. Without sin? Possibly. Technically some of the more questionable things he did were not technically sin.

Well it was his house.

So all property damage claims are negated.

But why did God let him in “His house” in the first place if all Churches belong to him?

That’s why I think God doesn’t own churches. Humans do. They either rent to God for the fee of their eternal soul OR they don’t and God is not truly present there.

If God in fact existed he would expel evil from his house.

Humans do. True.


God is sometimes not present in churches. True.


Demons sometimes swarm churches. True


Yet these buildings are made with the premise to worship God and the symbol of the cross represents the sacrifice of Christ. And so they are borrowing the name of God for whatever sick purpose they are really trying to achieve. God may not do something about it immediately, but judgment awaits every soul without exception
