I didnt care when either of my grandpas died, or when my auntie died. Havent had to deal with much death in my life, but I know for sure when my girl goes ima be fuckin rekt.
As long as we give them the best days we can while we can, thats all that matters.

THE UPDATE IS she just had a really bad inner ear infection and it mimicked the symptoms of a stroke. She got some ointment and some antibiotics and was back to normal.

I question whether im keeping her around for me or for her sometimes but then she goes for a walk or goes to the beach and its all smiles tail wagging time of her life, she aint givin me the signs yet.

My pups in the same boat right now, got him from a shelter when he was about 5-6 years old. Saw potential in him for a new duck hunting buddy, turns out he doesnt like guns or fetching birds. Tens of thousands of retrieved balls/toys/socks and about 6 years later it's almost time for my buddy to go on without me. Had a bad day yesterday pretty sure it was a stroke now he doesn't want his dog food doesn't care about his toys(biggest red flag here) and just doesn't feel like moving around. Overweight old and probably abused in his life before our paths met, tomorrow will be his last day with me he no longer has the shine in his eyes he used to and when he looks at me he just looks unhappy. My first dog and probably my last, not sure how people can go through this 5-10 times in their life. Special dog special memories will never be forgotten. Didn't do what I got him for but man did he do a lot for me. Typing this sitting by his side just making sure he's comfortable till it's time to go tomorrow. Hope your pups alright and hope OP pups alright.

Tomorrow will hopefully be a good day for my boy, cooked him some chicken cuz he isn't feeling well enough for regular doggo food. Tomorrow I'll cut him up some chicken hopefully he is hungry, then we are just gonna hangout all day tomorrow until the time comes. I'll bring his bed in the back of my car and Mr.Tiger his favorite toy to the vet with him. Makes me extra sad I never knew him when he was a puppy. Glad I was around to make his later years the best I could
