Some people it takes getting up in the court system and going to jail (where your only chance is to get sober) and then reporting to a parole officer or probation officer.

And even then some people can’t get sober, they buy fake piss and then get busted by their parole officer / etc and end up doing more time in jail then have to get sober eventually because they are literally getting piss tested for drugs.

A one size fits all “just stop”

Or “just seek god and that will do it “

Probably doesn’t work for 50% or more of addicts

I understand addiction and it's a very simple concept. I also know where it originates from and know how one can be free from it.

You are more fixated on the lie of it vs the truth that sets you free from it.

god is a big part of AA its pretty much a church recruitment scheme before you know it you will tithe 10% of your income and your sobriety will rely 100% on them cuz you never took accountability and changed you just replaced one thing for another.

A higher power does exist

I’ve seen things in my life that prove it

If I told you the how or why you might not believe it though

But I doubt you can convince most atheists thst a higher power exists

You could believe “a higher power” is a chair if you want in AA

Believing in the traditional “Christian belief”

Of god is not necessary to get sober at AA

You can make “your higher power” whatever you want to believe

You could make your higher power Odin, Freya, and Thor

If it ever existed it would be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Unfortunately for you it's something your mind under the influence conjured up and you are having a difficult time separating what's real vs imaginary.

I don't expect a junkie to understand what it's like having a clear mind but one can try.
