1. No one is trying to make you buy anything just because it's on sale

2. You have the choice to not buy what's on sale. So what is the problem? You're making a problem out of nothing.

Vacuum seal food, a spacious freezer can easily accommodate 1/2 -1year worth of meat. Plant some fruit trees.
Buy bulk foods rational them. There is plenty you can do
