It's bad because so many people will be out of a job. People without jobs (especially those that went to school) will be quite pissed and take an income hit.
The thing for me is that people can still work with regular jobs, just not that much. Why not use technology to make our lives easier? But we can still maintain jobs, just for a more healthy activity level. Everyone agrees that working 8-16 hours every day is not healthy. Even if the government promotes that it is.
Considering the relevant workplace leadership though, but very few workplaces has intelligent leadership, where people are treated like people and not like animals. This has to do again with the national psychology which is fronted by the government, which is usually to self-sacrifice to the point of deaht and collapse in order to extract the essence and the soul of everyone, in the benefit of the leadership in power. Which is a psychopathic and outdated philosophy based in the dark ages where slavery and despotism was the going norm. And those that manage to rise above this philosophy and exploit people falling prey to it, are those that make it big. Sad.
Instead of everyone working a little less, but being able to actually stay in a job for a lifetime - which IS healthy. Feeling included and in control of one's destiny is in my opinion one of the biggest preventive factors of illness and depression which leads to illness, and drug abuse and so on. 2-3 hour workdays is more in line with this. 8-16 is too much.
