No, they dont.
I only give my priest 50usd every year when he visits me to give blessing to my family, and my gf gives a half-dolar coin anytime she goes to a weekly mass (I dont attend so no weekly money from me).
So we give to our religion like 1/800 of our incomes. Never heard a bad word from my priest about it. The priest is not complaining.
Of course priests are different people, and since you need to be celibate, they arent too picky on who becames one, so some priests could be greedy. Mine is not so its not "religion asks money".
I dislike my religion for other reasons though
