he said the shape of the earth. if it was space travel they wouldnt need to come to a conclusion, that's called observation. conclusions come from proof pieced together, as the ancients did.
not to mention no one would claim modern govts with space programs dont talk. the "independently....world is a ball" part made that clear.

as to the nonsense about drilling. you realize they run into all sorts of things at varying levels. blockages, etc. and drill bits wear down naturally. of course you dont, you've prob never even used a hand drill.
what do you think happens when they hit a large metal deposit or some quartz, or diamond, or whatever else is in the layers of the earth before magma.
