I have started hating cats so much last year. I moved in the same roof with my gf about 4 years go and with her came those 2 lil old basta*ds. Both are now about 15 year old and I wish they past a way soon. Mouring at the night so I can't sleep and scratching everything and yes they have scratch tree. They have already destroyed 1 sofa and 1 of them have peed on one corner and laminate have raised up and there is pee smell around it. I have been always thinking that cats are clean animals but thats bull*hit. There is those crystal sand from their toilet everywhere in the apartment and carpets are dirty of their pukes....and quess what it's almost impossible to try to make them learn better cause they are so old..and they can live like 10 years still...

Damn, home is like Zoo now..

Are the cats fixed? How many litter boxes do they have? How often do you clip their nails? If they are throwing up (not just hairballs) have you tried different brands of food (senior cat food?). Also you can get mats that are specifically designed to help get litter off their paws that you put right outside the litter box. And if you can afford it, most cats do not like leather and won't scratch it. Most problems with cats are actually because of people. Cats are extremely clean animals unless their environment is dirty.

Yeah, cats are fixed. They have one litter box, we have tried 2 but they are still using only the one. I've been trying to teach them for scratch tree by using some cats mint around it and some "cats candy" top of it. Another one did scratch nails for it like 2 times and then forgot it. We have tried many different brands of food but those basta'ds are so choosy, they won't eat some food. All food are "senior" food. We let them also eat grass sometimes, they are like cows with it, we can't live any flowers or green stuff at the table, they will eat it in hour. Lol. I think it's a lil bit my gfs fault that she have grown them as indoor cats and a lil bit too softly. I think that cats are more outdoor animals and get best life outside than inside..

I didn't know about those mats around litter box. Have to test it out. Never had leather sofa and I don't think we gonna get one soon.

The recommended amount of litter boxes to cats is however many cats you have +1. I would try at least 2 even if they aren't using the one. I would also maybe try soft food because when cats get older the hard food might bother their teeth so soft food is a good alternative. I also would maybe try putting the scratching posts right next to the couch, if they aren't already, so they have it right there as an option.

I dunno. Just some ideas. My two cats are angels so I don't really have any problems lol.
