I'm drinking a quantity over quality scotch right now.

It makes me want to pee on people.

Watch out.

I also have the 18 year old glenfiddich :-)

Worst purchase recently was an 18 year old chivas regal... What the fuck was that..? I've had un-marked age whiskeys better than that..

A random bottle of whyte and mackay for one.

whiskys with no age statement arent necessarily bad. in fact, theres currently a move away from age statements in part due to shortages of aged whiskys. ardbeg uigedail, for example, has no age statement yet is excellent.

Johnny walker blue ftw

the blue is at least decent but its soooooo overpriced. you could pick up 3-4 bottles of some other stuff thats fantastic for the price of one bottle of jw blue.

try ballantines for a cheaper blended scotch thats pretty good, or islay mist 8 if you want it a bit smoky.

clynelish or tomintoul for a nicer single malt that wont break the bank.

just ordered the compas box's 'lost blend' a recreation of their short lived eleuthra which was discontinued due to a lack of availability of one of the components. yes, its a blend. sounds very good though, a mix of cail ila, clynelish and one other for a subtly smoky but drinkable dram.

lets see if it lives up to the hype.

came today. savoring some right now. quite nice.
