Let me rephrase: the FE theory relies completely on the validity of the "perspective planes matrix" theory. If the latter is proven to be incorrect, the former is incorrect with almost 100% certainty as well.

As it stands, the perspective planes matrix theory cannot be confirmed. All possible observations (such as the horizon, disappearing ships, the sun's visibility) can be predicted with 100% accuracy through trigonometry when taking the Earth's assumed curve into account. None of these observations can be predicted, explained or described by the perspective planes matrix theory, leading to the inevitable conclusion that the perspective planes matrix theory is almost certainly false.

Based on this alone, I find it peculiar that some people still choose to stick with the FE theory.

You can't convince him :D But it was a nice try :)

It does not rely completely on one piece of the puzzle....a puzzle needs all pieces to fit together to see the entire completed picture.
How can YOU validate a theory if YOU don't understand it?

Ok if the earth is flat how deep is it? If we dig far enough do we make a hole that we can pass thru?

Are we in space? Or is that a hoax. And the earth is all that exists?

A theory is not a puzzle. The perspective planes matrix is part of the proof, which means that the theory cannot be correct if the perspective planes matrix theory is incorrect

I understand the theory, which is why I know that it is incorrect.

Well made a booble search with '' Flat Earth concept '' and started with 4/5 first links.

This picture seems a good start to understand the concept - http://images.gawker.com/usl7xlk5kukiiu9jbbfd/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800.png

Problem is if the Sun is hidden from the sight of view ( night ), it will be for every one whatever their position on the Earth...

Solved with the Sun making a focal onto the Earth  - https://i.makeagif.com/media/6-27-2015/6TPX2_.gif

Now wondering what if someone want to travel from A to B ... - https://i.imgur.com/wxWddvm.gif

and find out that the shorten path is going through the Antarctica ?

bad pic, bad understanding

sounds like you read some troll page

bad research, try again

The perspective planes matrix is an OpenGL project to display a 3d surface on a 2d monitor - so really it has nothing to do with FE really. All computer games are based on a flat plane so claiming you understand what it is is just a logical fallacy when you assume Earth's curvature is somehow accounted for when its not.

Your simply convinced that irl 3d is accurately model with your 2d understanding of perspective and that is wrong. The problem is that you are taught to think stupid, and it is on purpose. Perhaps we can start with your explanation of what you think the horizon is and why do you think we see it?

If spinning ball earth theory and the supposed curve is not modeled into video games - your sacred balls in space theory is certainly false.

The farthest humans have dug down is 8 miles, after that it's pure speculation.

if you don't program a non-linear x,y,z set of physics into an x,y,z engine the set of non-applicable physics is clearly false.

sometimes its hard to imagine how someone so smug could be so wrong.

You and ChivasRegal have both used the perspective planes theory as an explanation for why distant objects disappear from view. All I am saying is that this theory is incorrect, regardless of whether it's used in 3D emulations or not.

I didn't "convince myself" of anything; I can use proper math to predict the size and visibility of any object when taking its location and the viewer's location into account. Best of all: these calculations work when you take the curvature into account, but do not work when you assume that Earth is flat.

Why would video games need to take the curvature into account? They just model a flat world, do not render objects beyond a certain distance, and the result is a world that looks real enough to be playable.
