Dispersion is a real thing - it's a word used to describe the fact that different frequencies are slowed (and refracted) differently, causing white light to spread into a spectrum.
Dispersive index and dispersive qualities are nonsense, on the other hand. Only the refractive index matters, since dispersion is still just refraction.
