I truly don't understand how adult humans can believe in god, heaven, hell, life after death, ghosts, etc.
Its literally the equivalent of children believing in Santa Claus and people with common sense know better.
Is it simply because people are so scared that death is permanent? Death is the equivalent of before you were born = nothing.
When something happens, or a prayer gets answered, or anything in-between. How do people not chalk it up to statistics?
I grew up christian my entire life. I WANT to believe in god so badly...but common sense tells me it doesn't exist. That death is final.
When one of my livestock dies or a friends livestock dies and you see dead cows, chickens, etc. You see death for what it is. Your brain was supporting consciousness, and now its not.
Should just be that simple
I believe we are microscopic the larger scale of things. Like how atoms are small to us, we are small to whatever/whoever
Lets say we were just some sort of bacteria floating around in a conscious being or something of the sort. That being still has no more power over us the we do what's microscopic to us
If AI ever gains consciousness. Who's god to them? Us?
God damn am I high
The only person you need to believe in is yourself
No Christ needed.
