If it is really old and did not login for like dunno, months, it is probably deleted. Happened to me several times.
It is always nice to have your 90+ nicely equipped chars deleted even if it is nonladder.

I will stay at singleplayer for sure.

Single player can be fun but only if you're lucky enough to get good gear without hacks

It is even more fun than Bnet IMO. Only the first char hard to start just like a ladder reset, but the shared stash is awesome!
When I made a new char, I could gear it up with a full stash of 1-3 lightning dmg and etc smallcharms and it one hited most mobs with players 8
And I could use my first sorc Stealth armor and low runewords until it got the last required levels to use its own gear.

Email recovery but most likely all your characters will be expired if it has been a very long time,

I still wish you the best of luck with recovering your long lost account, It is a shame how they get expired and all the items etc just get deleted.. waah..

So many items have been lost over time so sad..
